Kan-Roll Mills provide higher volume for less labor. They handle 2,500-3,800 bushels of high moisture corn per hour, per mill, with approximately 1% whole grain and 3% fines. The cost of milling will depend on many factors; moisture content, keeping the hopper full, the condition of the rolls and keeping foreign objects out of the mill.
High moisture corn that has been processed though a roller mill will have a greater value than whole corn. Whole corn will pass through the digestive system unused along with valuable nutrients. Cracking your grains with a roller mill will save producers money in the long run, especially as the price of feed/corn rises.

Holding very high moisture corn (22-24%) is possible in the bin but extreme care should be taken to avoid spoilage. Monitoring temperature and keeping it near 20°F throughout the bin is key. Grain at this high moisture level will likely need to be ran through a high temperature dryer by early March when temperatures begin to rise.

Our recent studies on pelleting the AFEX pretreated corn stover at 26% and 19% (w.b.) moisture content in a laboratory scale (flat die) and a pilot scale (ring die) pellet mill indicated that good quality pellets with high density (>600 kg/m 3) and durability (>98%) can be produced .

Treating high-moisture corn (18%–27% moisture) with 0.5%–1% propionic acid is an effective and sometimes economical means of preserving corn without drying. Unfortunately, chemical treatments adversely affect wet milling and starch pasting properties ( Wang and Johnson, 1992a, Wang and Johnson, 1992b ; Myers and Fox, 1995 ).
A raw mill is the equipment used to grind raw materials into "rawmix" during the manufacture of cement. Rawmix is then fed to a cement kiln, which transforms it into clinker, which is then ground to make cement in the cement mill. The raw milling stage of the process effectively defines the chemistry (and therefore physical properties) of the finished cement, …
