Greetings - I am a new member after buying my first milling machine - an Atlas horizontal mill. I still do not have a positive ID of the model because the tag was removed when a reversing control switch was installed in place of the original on/off switch. It has a power table feed so I think it is an MFB or MFC.
Atlas Keyway cutter/horizontal mill. Model MFC. Serial no. 009638. 4" x 18" table. 2" Y-axis. 9" X-axis. (16) assorted cutters. (2) index heads. Dead center. Automatic feed. Red tool box not included. 1220 Mission Boulevard. Liberal, KS 67901 Condition = 3 Sold as pictured, item has not been tested. We have made no attempt to evaluate this merchandise other than picturing it.

Don't count on an Atlas milling machine to be capable of doing much work in any reasonable length of time,especially in steel.They work well in brass,and make a good little mill for clock makers.They are just too light.Something like a small Burke that 2 guys can move is much more of a real machine.This is my opinion,having had both mills in my beginning …

Up for auction is a vintage Atlas metal shaper in good working condition. These were produced between the years of 1937-1961. But I do not know if what particular year this unit was made. The shaper is actually model number 7AB. It is the same as a 7B model, but Atlas offered a 7AB model without the safety guards on the earlier models.

VSAncona. Atlas made two different lengths of 2MT holders. The short one is number M6-945 (top one in photo) and was sold with a draw bar for use with the 6" Atlas lathe. The longer holder, number M1-577 (middle one in photo) was sold specifically for the milling machine and uses the same draw bar as the horizontal cutter arbors.
Its measurements are as follows: base – 5" OD, height – 3 5/8, and the jaw opening is 4". It came with an Atlas MFC Horizontal Bench Mill that I acquired and I believe that the Atlas swivel base vice had a model number of M1-300. The DPV-101 is a bit too large for the small table of the Atlas, but is very well made and I will use it.

Apr 3, 2017. #1. Heres a short clip and a few pics of the Atlas MFC Horizontal Milling Machine circa 1950, I just finished restoring. I purchased it from a fella in Toronto who had it on Kijiji. It appeared to be lightly used as there was no wear on any of the gears, everything was very stiff if not seized because of old dry grease and dirt.
