The Rusnok head has also been adapted to many horizontal mills to give them vertical capacity. Another small milling machine, this with a knee, is the Benchmaster. These are no longer manufactured, but appear from time to time on eBay. They lack downfeed on the quill and use MT#2 collets, but otherwise are very nice small machines.

4795. I have a Rusnok model 70 head with five U collets for sale for $300 plus shipping. It will fit a 2" overarm, and I thought about using it on my Hardinge TM horizontal mill, but never did. There is also a 2.75" adapter with it. The 1/4 HP motor is 115 V. The spindle speeds are 380, 700, 1200, 2500 and 5200.
Menards Milling & Drilling Machine DL300-150. I have a 3/4 HP Milling & Drilling Machine branded by Menards. Model number DL300-150. It was manufactured in Taiwan in 1984. I purchased it second hand and has been sitting a while with many other projects. It has a chuck instead of a collet...and not sure if the chuck is removable.

Re: New Rusnok model 80 mill head question. Contact them and request a quote. I know the entire milling machine is around $4k or so, but I don't know what only the head costs. The machines are currently built to order. EM are more responsive to a phone call, but feel free to email them as well.

The Rusnok looks nice, but has all the same limitations of a mill drill. No accurate way to move in the z direction, except the quill, which only has a travel of 1.5" or so. Back when I still had my Vernon horizontal I thought pretty hard about buying a new Rusnok head for it to create a mini-Bridgeport type machine.

This week I managed to locate and purchase a new milling machine. A Rockwell International 21-120. This will take some work to bring back to life. It is missing the motor, mount, arbor arm support and all tooling. A previous owner converted it to a Vertical mill by mounting a Rusnok milling head to the arbor support arm.

If that guy had advertised it as "Rusnok milling head", he probably (I don't know what you paid) could have gotten 2 to 4 times more for just the head without the "drill press looking" stand.. The seller was a professional machinist, so he knew what it was & advertised it as being good to add to a small horizontal mill.
Hi all, I recently picked up a Taiwanese clone of a Rusnok milling machine, circa 1980s. Cool little mill, and everything seemed in order. The previous owner reported that the spindle possessed an R8 taper, and by all accounts that would seem correct, but I'm encountering a d issue when trying to install R8 tooling.

That is a Rusnok 70 Milling Head, takes "Y" collets. The Rusnok is mounted on the 2 inch horizontal overarm. There is a Rusnok Mill yahoo group with lots of documentation. It is mounted on a Sheldon 0 Mill. The handle on the left is for a Reeves drive for the spindle. The spindle taper is B&S #9. Bernie

On the other hand I do have old US made Rusnok milling machine, about mini mill size, that is column based yet marketed as "precision" mini milling machine. Thus I am unsure whatever the issues with column based machines are overstated at least at the level of very light milling. In the end the pick is a bit hair splitting.
