25 Mar 2018 Power Drawbar for X2 Mini Mill My goal is to make a CNC mill that is as autonomous as possible. Ideally spitting out parts for me without having to touch it (unlikely). One challenge on the road to that goal is for the mill to be able to automatically switch tools for different types of cutting operations.
The mini mill is available from Sieg with two different spindle tapers: #3 Morse Taper and R8 Taper. This one uses the R8 taper which is the standard for mid-size Bridgeport-style mills. Both types work equally well, but R8 accessories are more widely available and often are lower in cost than comparable MT accessories.

Just fyi the Super mini mill needs 3 phase power. The regular mini mill and mini mill 2 can run on 1 phase 240VAC. This setup clamp kit is dope. If you don't get wireless probing buy a Heimer 3D taster and Z tool setter. Will save tons of setup time.
